After seven years of ska noodling The Ballistics have decided to call it a day. We have two gigs left, though hopefully there'll be a final farewell in August / September (nothing sorted as yet, though).
So, if you are really desperate for entertainment, or are just curious about how a band like The Ballistics have managed to sustain themselves for so long with such an obvious lack of credibility, then why not pop along to one of the two definite remaining gigs to see for yourselves why we were once described as 'like a more mature, suited and booted version of Blazin' Squad.'
Gig one is on Saturday 4th July, at the Royal Oak. Entry is free and extra special guests for this one are Zeeb.
Gig two is on Saturday 11th July, at Martesham Music On The Green. We're on around 8.30pm.
There's no guarantee, but with a bit of luck there might be one last fling at the Steamboat in late summer, then that's yer lot. It's been a blast and we've had some truly memorable gigs.
Massive thanks to anyone who's helped us out along the way. Stars, the lot of you.

* Looking for a Trombone player *
We're currently on the lookout for a trombone player. If you can pick stuff up quickly and play pretty well, and you fancy the idea of getting involved, then get in touch.
* T-Shirts Update *
The new shirts are back from the printers and are available now! You can pick one up in XL, L, S and girly skinny fit and they're priced £8. *medium sized shirts have sold out*
* Looking for gigs and writing songs *
We've got eight new songs (six in the set - 'Long Time Dead', 'So Messed Up', 'Reject', 'Jack Union', 'To Be Someone' and 'Angel'), as well as a new intro, but we're still writing more. Fantastic to see all of them going down a storm when we've played them at gigs. Smart! Talking of gigs, if you'd like The Ballistics to play your gaff then get in touch. We're looking to get as many shows as possible in 2008. Cheers!
* Charity single out now *
The Ballistics have recorded a version of the Ipswich Town song, 'Come On The Town', previously released by Edward Ebeneezer & the Supporters in the 1970s. The CD is in aid of Multiple Sclerosis causes and is out now. Visit http://www.itisc.org.uk/news.htm for details of how to get hold of one. CD also features All My Neighbours and Slow Down.
* Thanks to Sax Steve *
Many thanks to Sax Steve for standing in on tenor sax while Boxcar Tom was away in Spain. Cheers!
* New songs *
The first batch of new songs since the release of Kelso Cochrane are now being honed and polished. Look out for 4 new tracks in the set by the end of the year.
* Big Cheese *
The Ballistics are featured in this month's Big Cheese magazine, in an article about the re-emergence of UK ska. You can find the mag in WHSmith, or in your friendly neighbourhood punk rock shop, if you're lucky enough to have one.
* Video game *
A song from 'The Spirit Of Kelso Cochrane' is being featured in a new skateboarding game that's currently being developed in the USA.
